Terry, I think the reason to use mylar in this case was to make carbon tissue
for color printing, where the plastic has many advantages (allows automatic
registering, no transfer prior to development if you expose from behind, faster
drying...) For monochrome work I agree: the simpler - the better (as long as it
works ;-))
