I forget the beginning of this thread -- what the measure of "UV output"
was for, but it occurs to me to mention that last fall when we did some
testing on blacklight vs. daylight vs. cool white fluorescents, we
confirmed the fact that different processes react to different
wavelengths, and that they are sensitive in different "spikes" along the
spectrum.
For instance, daylight fluorescents made rich but contrasty gum prints,
Sandy said they made superior carbon tissue, but they scarcely exposed
cyanotype at all. Which is to say, each process reacted differently. In
other words, the stated "sensitivity range" for non-silver processes would
seem to be an oversimplification. So might be testing with filters for a
relatively limited patch of the spectrum (depending of course on the
purpose).
