About 3 years ago I found a bound set of very old British Photography
Mags. c1915 or so which contained a formula for "Imitation Platinium
Prints." The sensitizer is very similar to the standard Kallitype formula.
Subsequently I have found recurring references to similar formulas which
will produce platinium-like prints, so I suspect that your conclusions
about substituting Kallitype for Platinium because of the expense is
correct. BTW, if anyone is interested, I will post the formula for
"Imitation Platinium Prints."
