Jim Reilly's book, "Albumen & Salted Paper Book" published by
Light Impressions in 1980 is the definitive work in English. It
is, alas, long out of print.

The photohistory folks at Arizona State University published a small
but informative tome, "Photogenic Drawing: The New Art" by student
Melissa DuBose in 1988.

There is a tremendous amount of material in the earliest issues of
The British Journal of Photography and the equivalent French
magazine. IMHO, the French were THE masters even though the idea
was Talbot's.

There are several good aesthetic histories.
"The Art of the French Calotype" by Andre Jammes & Eugenia P. Janis
"Paper and Light: The Calotype in France and Great Britain, 1839-1870"
by Richard Brettell et al
"Out of the Shadows, Herschel, Talbot & The Invention of Photography"
by Larry J. Schaaf

There are more but at least in English, these are the best.
H.J.P. Arnold's brilliant biography of Talbot is certainly the most
thorough treatment.

Good hunting.
