To Acidity Prone Cyanotypists

What is the rationale behind the apparent objection to buffered papers for
cyanotypes ? When the water for my cyanotypes came from the chalk aquifer of
the London artesian basin they were a beautiful blue. Is somebody saying that
they are going to fade away. Iron based pictures from the 1840s made in alkaline
water areas still look healthy.

I mentioned in a posting yesterday Silvie Turners book 'Which Paper' which
answers such questions as to whether art papers are buffered. The book is a very
useful tool in reaching decisions as to which paper to use for which purposes.
