I have used Burkholder's method with some success when making enlarged
negatives for platinum/palladium printing and have been able (in most
instances) to overcome these problems.
The grittiness and dot patterns appear to be much more diificult to eliminate
when making (I reveal this at the risk of a heresy charge) contact prints in
silver. This is probably true due to the unforgiving slick surface of gelatin
silver paper.
Has anyone else experienced this? Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks.
