Terry,

Thank you for providing the acid-amidol information. A few
questions about the details:

> Boiled water (important) 570 ml

Is it necessary to mix the stuff at an elevated temp, or is room
temperature sufficient?

> 'N' for both is about ninety seconds.

Hmmm... this sounds a little "Zonie" to me. I assume this "N" is for
a "normal" platinum negative? Also, is this 90 seconds at 20 deg C?

I assume with such a short development time the film should be
presoaked in water to ensure even development. I am also assuming
development in a tray with constant agitation.

Finally, do standard stop and fixing procedures apply?

Thanks again. I look forward to trying this magic potion.

On a related note, thanks to Charlie Palmer for the considerate
recommendation of the Frederick Evans book. Much more useful
to me than the previous response I got to the question. Certainly
ink is no substitute for platinum, but I am interested in his biography
and imagery as well as the incredible quality of his original prints
(which I have no easy access to).

And, I think it was Judy who mentioned Andrew Cahan, Bookseller, who
just happened to have the book in stock. It is now on its way
across the country to my anxiously awaiting hands.

This list is an absolute gold (or, more appropriately, platinum) mine of
information!
