Tissue for Carbon Print

What kind of paper should one use to make the tissue for carbon printing? The
books that I have read give only the formula for the pigment but do not
mention the paper. Should it be coated on one side only?

How about the temporary support? "Keepers of Light" mentions plastic foil in
the 3-color carbon section. What is plastic foil? I remember someone from the
list mentioned mylar a while ago. Has it been used successfully? What type of
mylar should I use?

Another question that I have is about the light source (yes, I have read the
FAQ). I was thinking about using the light box for viewing transparencies.
Someone mentioned that it would not work, but I thought I needed to build a
light box anyway, so why would it work? Is it because the wattage for those
light boxes is too low? I am hoping that I don't have to build one yet
because I am just going to try some gum printing to see if I like the
process. Maybe I won't do more after the first few prints (unless it is
addictive :) ). Can I use the regular ceiling light tubes and just expose
the negative under it without enclosing the whole thing in a box?

Thanks in advance for any help.
