I've been going through the archives and would appreciate some
clarification. There was a tread about large negatives. What is the
difference in the final Gum print (what will I see) if I used a paper
negative vs. a continuous tone Litho negative? What would be a good
exposure starting point for a paper negative w/ a saturated amonnium
dichromate solution (ballpark)?
Regarding the Gum Arabic thread, Photographic formulary told me their
liguid gum arabic isa 48% solution (227 grams powder to make 1 pt
(473ml)) which is 14 Baume. Would I be correct in assuming that if I
wanted a higher Buame as many suggest (17 Baume), that a 48% solution
devided by 14 = 3.42; so, would a 17 Baume be a 58% solution? Is it that
simple to adjust to a different Baume, or is there more complicated
photo-chemical calculations required?
