You can probably use roofing copper (16 oz or heavier 24 oz) which comes in
4 ft x 8 ft sheets. Most suppliers will be happy to cut it down for you.
Roofing copper is much cheaper than printmaker's etching copper but may
need some additional surface sanding & polishing. Regular pre-cut copper
plates for etching are sold through artist's supply houses such as Daniel
Smith (WA 800-426-6740) or Graphic Chemical (IL 708-832-6004). Graphic
Chemical also carries photo-engraver's grade copper plates - these are
highly polished & extremely expensive.
