Carson mentions photo-resist. The developer is unknown to me but after
development, the copper plate was placed in ferric chloride for etching.
These chemical should still be available as this process is used to
make electronic etched circuit boards. Look in a catalog of a company
that supplies electronic parts. You could also try Radio Shack.
Jack, if you have a Physics Department, go talk to an experimental
physicist about this.

You can buy copper plates bonded to plastic and already sensitized.
When they first came on the market, in the 70's I think, I used them
to make a few images. One of mine is in the permenent collection at
a local college (not mine).
