Lightbox Questions

I am considering using a ceiling light fixture as a light box mainly because
I am not really a hardware type person to build one (I can if I really have
to but am trying to avoid that). The fixture looks like a perfect light box.
The only problem is that it has only 4 tubes in it, and they are separated by
about 3 inches from one another.

My questions are:

1. Will the 4 tubes provide enough illumination (for gum print and/or
carbon)?

2. Will the 3-inch separation cause unevenness in exposure?

TIA!
