Question #1 Is stainless steel as fertile a medium for contamination as other
metals ? Or Aluminum as has been mentioned on this list ? And are Hake
bruches the only way to go in the application of sensitizer because they do not
have any ferrule. I know of several very syuccessful Pt printers who have
recommended to me and use the Purdy 100% China Bristle brushes . They are for
oil-base paints . They do have a metal ferrule however which I believe is nickle
and a number of the high quality oil and acrylic brushes also have this nickle
ferrule. Last year I used to use such a brush and at that time had never noticed
any problems with tiny dots with its use. So I'm not sure which metals are the
real villains and which are not. Anybody know?
I tried the Wyndstone Vellum as was recently discussed of this list and love it.
It comes in three thicknesses and only the thinnest was workable ( I believe it
is 2.5 pt ?). I did use Potassium Chlorate as a contrast agent and it was great.
I highly recommend it to lovers of the translucent .
