I'm going to vote for copper sulfate as Terry suggested because all the
references I have read say that acid rain is produced by the interaction
of sulfer dioxide with water in the atmosphere resulting in sulfuric
acid. The sulfer dioxide results from the burning of fossil fuels. Some
nitrous oxide is produced which results in nitric acid. Ammonia combined
with water vapor would result in ammonium hydroxide which is a base and
I don't think it would react with copper.
