Dear Scientists;

I said something carelessly yesterday which ill expressed my thoughts &
the true situation (part 3 of my August Alzheimers, & it's only Aug. 24),
which was:

"I'm not sure what use all this is, *unless* it turns out that the stain
in transformed form is not anti-archival & thus could be used as tone
builder... "

What I should have said of course was "in addition to expanding the sum
total of human knowledge," as I myself so often reflect after expending
considerable energy to come up with a finding of *no finding.*

Besides which, among other "uses" we now have those types of clearing
method in play, which leads me to repeat my question of yesterday about
using KHC or plain sodium sulfite, both "mentioned in these pages last
year," and which do not seem to be a big worry in fibre based photo
paper..

I will also point out that in situations where sink and/or tray space is
limited, as in a classroom, or an extra productive private studio, or
printing very large with a limited number of very large trays, long soaks
as recommended by Terry may not be feasible or in any event convenient.

And now someone will explain what's wrong with a pH pen to check the final
state of the paper acidwise......?

And PS. who was it had those dahlia misters?

Cheers,

Judy
