Print labelling is not MoMA's long strong suit, nor ever was. I recall
some years ago in a workshop with Beaumont Newhall, who enthralled us
with stories of his sojourn at MoMA, a moment came when I could not forbear
expressing some frustration with the (often almost useless) process labels
there. A beautific smile passed his face, and he waved his hand. "Oh who
cares," he said. "They're so beautiful."
