Well Steve, you sure outed Charles Berger! But that's not why I write,
which is to add a word about color proofing systems. In the old days (say
5 years ago) there were always several of these demonstrated at what was
then (if I recall) Photo Expo & is at present Viscomm (coming up soon at
Jacob Javits.... ).
Now there are none. Prepress is apparently entirely digital.
However, another process that began as pre-press went to art in the '70s,
becoming "Kwik Print." We've discussed it on the list, it has as many
drawbacks as "advantages," but it was my understanding that the colors
were modified to be more archival (the yellow especially was said to be a
problem at first).
