It may very well be another myth, but I have heard that (maybe read)
the problem with metal ferrules is that they might contaminate the
platinium sensitizer. I did use a brush with a metal ferrule for a
while for cyanotype and noticed that it rusted like gangbusters so
I quite useing it as it was dropping little rust particles all over
everything. Maybe Richard S. can comment on this.
