Re: Hake-type brushes

Hi David,

I still use hake brushes occassionally. I've obtained them from Light
Impressions, Daniel Smith, and from my friend Kozo Miyoshi who has
been a sort of artist-in-residence here for the last few years. When
Kozo asked if he could bring me something from Japan one time, I
asked for a couple of hake brushes. He was a bit perplexed by this
because it turns out "hake" means "brush" in Japanese and there are
many kinds. So I showed him the picture in the Daniel Smith catalog.
I don't remember the word for that type of hake -- I'll check
tomorrow. All of these have worked well and have given several years
of service.
