Bonus question: Do you do anything special to keep hairs from falling out
of the brush?
TREAT THE BRUSHES LIKE LOVERS. WASH IN LUKE WARM TAP WATER THEN TWO OR
THREE RINSES IN DISTILLED WATER. THEN GENTLY SMOOTH OUT THE HAIRS BETWEEN
YOUR FINGERS. MINE TEND TO LAST OVER A YEAR AND EACH BRUSH TAKES ON IT'S OWN
PERSONALITY.

What about shortening the bristles so they're only about 3/4" long?

WHY? USE VERY LITTLE PRESSURE WHEN YOU STROKE THE PAPER AND KEEP ONLY THE TIP
OF THE BRUSH ON THE PAPER. REALLY DOSN'T SOAK UP MUCH EMULSION.
Extra bonus question: I've used foam brushes before -- I seem to recall
them working pretty well, but don't they sort of disintegrate getting
little bits-o-foam (foam dust?) in the sensitizer?

FOAM BRUSHES ALSO TEND TO "TEAR UP" THE PAPER.
