Whoa. I don't know about the dye in the materials, but ALL color
PHOTOGRAPHIC materials are sensitive to RGB. Current technology uses RGB
light to make color transparencies and negatives, so there's a very
close relationship between the input (scanner/camera=RGB), the
environment (monitor=RGB), and color film output (film writer=RGB).
Also, this trend is certainly continuing. Kodak is even enhancing the
color in a new line of electronic imaging papers to take advantage of
this newer technology...LaserLight.

CMY may dominate most desktop output, but the world of film is happily a
unified community of RGB light. I try to stay there instead of going
CMYK if at all possible.
