after much consideration, and given that I have about 90 grams or so of
powdered BDH gelatin to spread over 60 sheets of paper twice (11x15), I've
decided I'm going to use a squeegee (with a very gentle touch!) to conserve,
rather than the edge of the tray.
The way I'm thinking, the edge of the tray doesn't always make full contact
(it's hard to control a floppy sheet of paper this way), and it makes a heck
of a mess and waste on the floor in front of the tray.
Wish me luck! I'm on the go
(by the way, for all who remember my film concerns a few months back - I've
chosen to go with Ilford FP4 10"x12", after testing with 4x5. I'll have a
neg. much broader than anything but maybe plat/pall will reflect, but at
least I'll have as much info and tonal variety as possible. thanks for all
your suggestions back then)
cheers
