I also have found this entire issue of contrast control highly variable
on the type of paper used. I have Wyndstone Velum and (9+3) is a silky as
I could ever hope for and I swear that no one could tell that I used
K-chlorate. Bienfang also responds nicely to 9+3. So it seems there are
no hard and fast rules and perhaps we are talking more about the respective
papers selections we use and the impact contrast control has on each of
these selections.
