Hi Keren
I normally use the gloss acrylic medium but I thought I recalled
doing some several years ago when I first started. I checked back in my
files(I use that term loosely) and found only one matt print and I don't
remember why I choose to go with gloss. It may have been the lack of depth
in the blacks.
There seems to be a considerable diffidence in the various brands of
medium. My guess and only a guess is that the brand of matt acrylic medium
wasn't suitable for transfer. I'm not sure what you meant by "and got a big
mess" but I have found that some brands need more coates than others. If
they are too thin they stretch and tear when you try to remove the paper
backing. I guess this means I should get busy and pick up some matt medium
and try it out unless someone on the list has tried it already and wants to
jump in.
