Don't forget to get a book which many would regard as essential if you want
to look into this subject preperly: it is by Martin Reed and is on Silver
Emulsions.

The distributors in Australia are Tower Books,Unit 9, 19 Rodborough Road,
Forest Hill, NSW 2086.

The US distributors are Amphoto Books, Watson Guptill Publishers,1511
Broadway,NYC,NY,10036

There is another product, marketed by Kentmere, called, I think, SE1. Somem
have said that it gives deeper black tones, but I have no view about
this.... Issues you may want to consider include: To dilute, or not to
dilute; Keeping the emulsion (and substrate) pretty warm (unless you want
very obvious brush marks); Age of emulsion; Different methods of
application for different surfaces. All of the above are well covered in
Martin's excellent book...

There is a ton of information about this subject in the archive. April,
May, June and August of this year were full of interesting comments. Steve
recently posted archive access information, but you mught also want to try
