I know, but my point was that you couldn't use it to make artistic prints and
sell them as art works. At least I wouldn't sell anything that would last
only 2-5 years.

(2) Just announced is an entirely new printing technology which is supposed
to be reasonable in price and, as it use pigments, make prints that have a
life longer than normal color prints.

That is the ink that I mentioned in my previous note. It still fades but
fades slower. Its main application is still in advertising/commercial works,
not really meant for permanent art works.

A representative from KODAK Professional Dept. came to my place last month,
and I specifically asked him about these things and we discussed about it. Of
course, this permanent printing technology is also a major research by KODAK
right now, but even he didn't think it's there yet. It is the conflicting
requirements between the permanance and the solubility of pigments that makes
things difficult.
