IRON TONERS
Formula 1
Potassium Ferricyanide 1 gm
Sulfuric Acid (conc.) 2 ml.
Water to make 500 ml
Ferric Ammonium Citrate 1 gm
Sulfuric Acid (conc.) 2 ml.
Water to make 500 ml.
Mix as seperate solutions. Add equal parts of each just
before use.
Formula 2
Water 1000 ml
Ferric Ammonium Citrate 1 gm
Potassium Ferricyanide 1 gm
Nitric Acid (conc.) 2 ml
Use full strength or dilute 1:1
As you can see, formula 2 is essentially the same as formula 1 except
for the acid. Maybe formula 1 keeps better since it is two seperate
solutions. My guess is almost any acid would work (like citric or oxalic).
