I am starting out on my own with photogravure after have taken a gravure
workshop a few years ago at school. I am going through my notes and only text
source at the moment(Photogravure: A Process Handbook by Gary P. Kolb) and
have come to the section on sensitizing the resist. The chemical recommended
is Potassium Dichromate. The text mentions that gloves should be worn when
handling this chemical. I looked up this chemical with Enviro-Net's Material
Safety Data Sheet Index and they state that this chemical is an extreme
carcinogen. Does anyone have any recommendations concerning how to handle
this chemical? What is the safest way to deal with it?
Much Thanks
Jeff
