If you mean me, yeah I'm listening. Can't talk all that much due
to a faulty PC giving me problems, but hope to have that fixed soon.
If you're talking about NYC being safe, everything is relative.
I've been to NYC at night, been to Philly at night, walked through Asbury
Park at night. Been to Trenton, Jersey City, was a tourist in Orlando at
the time they had declared hunting season on tourists in rental cars. I'm
still here.
But then a guy we had a meeting with in Dallas was shot dead on the
way to work the day before our flight down. One of the summer interns at
Bell found herself in the middle of a gang fight on a day trip to Philly
and caught a baseball bat in the face.
And then most of the people I know in Sydney have been mugged or
robed at some stage or another. I've known people that have been stabbed
or just plain beaten senseless and ended up in hospital. (Sorry, that
should have been robbed on the previous line - doesn't seem to bad to
have been robed).
If it happens to you, then it is one crime too many, regardless of
the statistics.

As to alt-photo, I've seen maybe a dozen Pt prints by the one
guy in Australia, and that's it. I have a Pt print from Terry (which is
very nice by the way), but there ain't a hell of a lot in oz on display
(at least not in Sydney). In fact, in the metro area, there are probably
only six or eight places you'll see photography exhibitions, and you'd
spend three days looking and driving between them (Sydney is 40k from
north to south, and probably sixty kms west to east). I wouldn't complain
about NYC if I were you :-)

Anyhow, enough bitching. I have work to do (worse luck).

cheers

p.s. Oh, and my wife just loves the shopping in NYC (or any other
place in the USA as a matter of fact).
