I am with Luis in that it will be very hard to find an umbrella that is a
good alternative to ALTERNATIVE. Non-silver clearly does not work because
many of the alternative processes involve silver processing. Classical
seems pretentious, and also seems to fix things in an eternal framework.The
term has also been used to describe a long series of cultural movements
that would make its meaning ambiguous when applied to photography.
