Friends and Colleagues

I have pecilled in the cinema at the Royal Photographic Society in Bath, a
World Heritage City, for us all on Friday 18 April and Saturday 19 April
1997.

We will have the cinema with full equipment for movies and transparencies,
and special display stands for prints available to us from 0930 to 1730 on
both days.

I suggest that we use the Friday morning for setting up and the Friday
afternoon and Saturday for viewing work and receiving papers on processes.
I will explore the feasibility of demonstrations.

On Sunday we could make a pilgrimage to Lacock and Avebury.

As an FRPS and as we will make the meeting open to Royal members and
others interested in alternative photography. for example the AoP and the
BIPP. the facilities will be available to us at no charge as it will be
regarded as a members' function.

As to refreshments, the V & A restaurant provides the catering at Bath at
a reasonable price.

I hope that we will have French, German, Danish, Swedish, Dutch, Italian,
Norwegian, Polish, Czech, Magyar ,Spanish and Portuguese speakers at the
meeting who will be able to provide commentary if anyone is not sure of
their English.

Could those interested in attending, showing their work or giving a talk(
Judy, Ron, Sil, Bas, Dick, Luis, Marc, Henk ?), let me know as soon as
possible so that we can an idea of scale and demand for accommodation and
the trip to Lacock. Both Bristol and London are within commuting distance
of Bath.

I suggest that initially people reply on the list so that others may gauge
response. I need answers quickly so that I can confirm and arrange other
publicity and the pilgrimage.

Incidentally the RPS at Bath has probably the finest collection of
alternative process prints anywhere in the world.
