Classical is a rather fuzzy term. It has gotten bashed about for so long
that its meaning really depends on context in which it is used. Bach is
Baroque, Mozart is Classical, and Beethoven is Romantic, is one thing. To
say Beethoven composed classical music is another. Both are correct wihtin
their usage. I think it could be appropriated without too much baggage
coming along with it. When you say neo classical, all I can think of is a
Michael Graves building or the his teapot sitting on my stove. Neo classical
still has a definitive meaning, it is a revival and reinterpretation of the
Classical in the sense that Mozart was a Classical composer.
