Risa,

I haven't tried the potassium dichromate myself, but Mike recently said
that you might try the formula minus the dichromate. Here's his message
to me about it:
>There is only a small amount in my recipe, but one could try leaving it out
>altogether, it's only there to assist keeping and remove ferrous iron
>impurities which would form Prussian blue.

If you give it a try, let me know the results.
