Kallitype developers

I normally use Ammonium Citrate as my "B" developer for kallitypes.
Mixed with the Sodium Acetate developer it allows for progressivelly warmer
tones. When used alone, it gives brown/sepia tones for the shades but there
is a split that gives the middle tones a greyish brown look.
One of the ways of correcting this is by adding sodium citrate to the
ammonium citrate developer.
Before I test this path any further, has anybody done these tests before?
I would be specially interested in results obtained with the various
possible combinationsof the sodium and ammonium citrates, and how they
react to the presence of the different organic acids.
