Fellow Bromoilists

Just a quick note to let you know that I have now tried the two
unsupercoated papers that Kentmere made for the Bromoil Circle.

One, the semi- mat is coated onto the back of Classic Art stock and the
other onto a stock intended for a glossy emulsion.

I have been making bromoils for some years usually using Document Art, old
and new, but I have tried Classic Art and the Chen Fu papers as well.

I can say that the new papers are easier to work with than anything I have
tried before. Using a brush or a roller the image appeared almost as if
the paper were sitting in a tray of developer. Ink was easy to put on and
to take off again, that is control was a simple matter with different
brushes, cotton buds or Ramer sponges.

All we need now is for one or two 'retailers' to be prepared to place an
order, perhaps jointly, that will justify a further run. Not surprisingly
Kentmere, for a product that appears to have a limited market, are only
prepared to manufacture on the basis of firm orders.
