Enlarged Neg. Service

In my advanced Pt/Pd workshop I teach students how to make enlarged negs
for Pt/Pd printing, but not in my Beginning classes where students either
bring their own 4x5 negs or use mine to learn how to print. Many beginning
students, however, want to bring 4x5 negs enlarged from some favorite 35mm
or 2 1/4 original and while I explain what the negative needs (I describe
it in lay terms, ie more exposure and dev. and techie terms, ie what
densitometric values are necessary) their local labs, even commercial labs,
just don't get it. Students bring in lousy enlarged negs made by labs who
don't understand Pt/Pd printing and charge an arm and a leg for their
ignorance to boot. So I'm looking for reliable labs that regularly produce
enlarged negs specifically for Pt/Pd; all the ones I knew years ago are
gone.

Any suggestions? Please note whether you have experience with the lab or
not; I wouldn't want to use one on rumor alone.

Thanks,
Bill

ps While I live in California, I teach workshops all around and, at the
least, many of my beginning students are willing to send their negs far
afield for good treatment.
