This is the kind of thing that makes this list great; people experimenting
and sharing their discoveries. The other thing that makes it work well is
the peer review.

One of our peers here is David Kennedy, and I recall that he was doing this
buffing thing with "normal" paper about a year ago. I don't believe he
still does, at least in the prints I've seen him make as of late. Maybe
David can explain his experience if he is lurking about. He's really busy
right now as he has a grant from the National Trust to do some of the
historical sites around Santa Fe, so if he doesn't chime in I'll give him a
buzz.
