I am fairly new to gum printing, and was planning to try and make large
negatives from slides using a color laser copier with a transparency
material. I understand mylar won't work -- does anyone know of other
pitfalls? would gilclear work? has anyone tried this?
By the way, this idea is in line with the low-cost alternatives. A few
years ago I used transparency film positives from a Xerox machine and
printed to white pigment on black paper. The results were delicate,
muted but not contrasty enough to hold up under a frame.
