There is a Department at the University of the South Bank that is
specifically concerned with UV and its uses.

When I borrowed a 1500w lamp from them a few years ago they suggested some
surprising sensitivity levels that implied that much of our practice was
mistaken. But it still seemed to work so I did not pursue the matter.
