97 edition on page 42 there is a photograph by Susan Laney that I'm very
interested in how it may have been printed. At first impression I thought
it was a Polaroid image transfer because of the holes at the top of the
negative.
But at second inspection there seems to be brush marks outside the image
that makes me think gum printing was involved. The faint carmine image is
partially covered by an almost black image (very high contrast).
There is also a bit of a canvas texture I think.
If you have this edition or have access to it I'd appreciate if you could
take a look at it and give me your opinion. This is an area (technique) I'm
very very interested in.
