Doesn't the charter of this list allow for some commercial content?

Besides, I've only seen helpful content from Dick, not crass commercialism. I
can understand Marc's response (as translated by others) since commercial
content is usually frowned upon by newsgroups/mailing lists (and I'm one of
the first ones to jump on it in those cases), but if the charter allows it,
and someone is not using the group only as a springboard for their own
self-interests, what's the prob?

As they say in software support lingo: RTFM (or charter, as the case may be)

I have to agree with Luis Nadeau (and others I am sure). I am against
outright commercials, however if the answer to a question is, "Yes, I
sell that, and the price is $XX." Then that is fine.

I have only been on this list for 2 or 3 days, and if I can help someone
out by telling them where to go, I will. I might even recommend myself,
or others, such as Dick Sullivan!
