I will apologize for this, although I am 95% lurker here. We Americans
(as a whole) have gotten into the unfortunate habit of deciding to do
nothing that offends anyone. This, here, is referred to as "political
correctness," or "PC." It is a spilling over of the unfortunate past
when, as an example, black people were referred to with rather
derogatory terms. They are now referred to as "African-American," which
oddly excludes Hatians and includes white South Africans.

Nowadays, anyone not following the PC line is setting themselves up to
be slammed against the wall as a racist, sexist, or some other "ist,"
which certainly goes the tenents of the formation of this country. My
feeling is that one's intentions are the important aspect here,
something that, in this bang-bang society, some people are not willing
to take the time to consider.

Please hang around. This sort of discussion happens a couple of times a
year, when people get upset at each other over something as
insignificant as this. As long as we keep the discussion within this
subject heading, you can do what I usually do - just delete all messages
coming in over this thread. This thread, as all thing, will pass, and
certainly we will get back to discussing platinum, cyanotype, and the
other things that make like really worth while. <g>

(I'm sure I'll get heat for the above, but one shouldn't have to fear
for their own opinions)
