I've had best luck with Cranes' Platinotype and the Van Dyke Brownprint
process. Bienfang 360 paper is also very nice, translucent, but difficult to
handle during coating and processing. Cranes' Kid Finish and Parchmont also
both work well but the watermark is disturbing to me.

Although I have only recently started to use Strathmore Lanaquarelle (for gum
bichromate in particular) I think it may also be a good choice for VDB. The
emulsion seems to coat much more evenly on this watercolor paper as opposed
to the Arches varieties that I've tried. The sizing in Lanaquarelle seems
more even as well as harder to me. "Measles" have occurred with the Arches
WC but not in my experience with Lana.

Hope this helps.
