Terry, I am not clear what this tissue is - is this the german (now
discontinued) one that has been discussed on the list before? If so (or
even if it isn't), do you have it in a VERY dark black? If so, I might be
interested in buying some! Though of course, it is really much better to
make one's own! ;-)

I am copying this to the list as it is of wider interest.

It is the G25 carbon tissue from the Autotype company intended for use in
machine gravure but which gives excellent results both in hand gravure and
for carbon printing.

Autotype, who are British, were the first to market carbon tissue in 1869
and have been making the stuff ever since. They stopped making coloured
tissue for carbon and carbro printing in the early fifties, I think, when
the market dried up. But, like any sensible commercial company they will
make it again if a commerciaL demand is there. I am assessing the level of
that demand for colours other than the 'sangine' carbon they make at
themoment.. The likely cost is likely to be comparable to that of fiber
based paper.

The material is manufactured to BS and European standards It is
consistent. My experience is such that I would rather use the Autotype
product than go through the bed of nails of making my own :-).
