Unfortunately at APIS the main presentation on Bromoil practice in France
had to be cancelled at the last moment as a result of postponement of the
Bievres photographic fair due to the French general election.

There was, however, ample opportunity for bromoilists to show their work.
I saw some stunningly beautiful bromoils on Document Art, by Riccardo
Cavallari, which had already been shown in Berlin.

.As we had an opportunity to see some very impressive large modern
ambrotypes from Jean-Jaques Salvador and there was intense pressure from
international speakers, the bromoil session, which was lacking its main
speaker, got squeezed out.

The objective of making the new bromoil papers available has been achieved.
Kentmere made an announcement at the Symposium that they are ready to make
the new bromoil papers in both the smooth and the textured finishes.
Could distributors, ready to order 1000 square metres or over, please
approach me off list.

It is worth noting that manufacturers in general are not equipped to
distribute in small lots, a box or two at a time. That is why we have
retailers and wholesalers.

The symposium in Bath, over the weekend, brought a solution to the
problem of 'Who is going to be responsible for ordering and distributing
the new Kentmere paper (if it is ever made)?', no nearer.

Members of the Bromoil Circle present were disappointed that they were
given no opportunity either to speak or to show examples of their work.
