Judy's comments are a reflection of the flexibility of gum and its
adaptability to the working methods and life styles of those who love it.
That is what I have been telling people on my courses for years. Gum is
not a precise art . Once one has established some very broad parameters it
is up to you.

One can need to take great care in using and manipulating gum as there are
so many variables that it would take Deep Blue and more to work out all the
permutations.

It is experience that gives the feel for gum. What Judy says about the
actuary bears out a suspicion that people of different mind sets prefer
different processes. Gum would not be precise enough for actuaries. Last
year I commented that accountants seemed to be good at bromoil transfer but
different people attacked me for being nasty to both bromoilists and to
accountants.
