Does this loss of speed and light sensitivity also apply to dichromate on
the shelf in *powder* form, or only after mixing?

I used some Kodak dichromate the other day . It was probably about fifty
years old. It worked well enough.

For gum printing a five or ten per cent loss in speed is not significant.

A solution kept on the dark room shelf in a brown bottle should cause no
difficulties.

If you are the kind of person that worries about such things only dissolve
enough for the current gum printing session.
