An apology and a hope.

Everybody

As I am normally an equable guy with a sunny disposition when the
adrenaline does start to flow it takes me a couple of days to cool down.
The tit for tat stuff was in those couple of days. I apologise.

I have just been reading the correspondence I had with a certain person in
Manhattan in the first six months of last year. It was a pleasure to read
it. For me it was enjoyable, educational and often funny. I have the
impression that it added something for more than just the two of us.

As the year went on one could read the changes in attitude occurring.
Matters got worse . Attitudes hardened. Sides were formed Intemperate
things were said which detracted from both of us and were a disservice to
others on the list.

With hindsight one can realise how much was lost and how unnecessary it all
was.

If there were the remotest possibility of a return to those days of
enjoyable debate I would certainly welcome it.
