I can't remember the reference information, unfortunately, but some time
back Pinhole Journal published an issue that was devoted to different
related imaging devices, and pinspeck was one of them. Someone described
how he "discovered" this, by seeing the image of the sun projected into
his hallway by a mica chip on the surface of an ajacent stucco house.
