I just tested the new Fabriano Uno paper for Pt/Pd printing. In a
nutshell, the paper is excellent.

I printed on the backside because the wire side of the has a pattern which
is too regular. I ended up double-coating the paper a la my formula which
can be seen at www.worldphoto.com (though I now use less sensitizer than
is called for in that article). In comparison with my standard paper --
Arches Platine -- the Uno has a little less speed, has a little less
contrast, and prints a bit cooler in tone. Prints come out incredibly
smooth! If the tone, speed, and contrast suit your work then you should
definitely try this paper. Really, the smoothness is fantastic.

Unfortunately for me, I've sort of fine-tuned my work to the tone and
contrast of the Platine. :( The Platine is in my dog house now because
the latest batch of paper I got looked liked Breyer's Vanilla Ice Cream
with Real Vannila Bean Specks. I've never had a btach with so much black
crud in the paper. Some bits were remarkably large.

Anyway, for those who would like to try the Fabriano Uno here are the
particulars:
